A silkworm's dream

I know my last post was 11/19 but, I have been working very hard not only creating silk scarves and neckties but doing juried craft shows. It is a shame that in a bad economy that the first to eliminate is art. Art is considered a luxury. Is it really? If it makes you feel great it is a necessity. I think I like to crate art to wear because more people get to see my artwork, it is in movement which adds to the artform, and the wearer gets complement who then feels great. I have just inspired myself to go into my studio and work!

Hi all, this is my first time bogging. I am an artist and I paint on silk. Mostly art to wear because more people can enjoy art. The art is in movement. Anyone in the Phila. pa area should come to the Waldorf School of Phila. craft fair this weekend. Friday 11/20 6:00 to 9:00pm and Saturday 11/21 10:00am to 5:00pm. Some really nice art work and very fine crafts will be for sale. I like doing small craft shows because the people are friendly and very interesting I have more time to talk with them the when i do large craft shows. I am a member of the pa guild of craftsmen. I received my State jury status in March and I am a member of Silk Painters International. A friend of mine and I are starting a Phila. chapter of spin and if there are any silk painters out there who are interested in joining let me know. hopefully I will have some pictures of my work posted soon. I have to go and pack my silks for the show this weekend. By for now.
